Try going up the Steps of Repentance, which is a total of 3000 steps, and you will understand why its name is so apt. It is best to visit Mt Sinai during sunrise or sunset to enjoy the marvelous view after the climb. Pharaoh’s Island and Salah El Din Citadel is an island fort that was built to protect pilgrims who traveled to get to the Monastery of St Catherine. A bonus to visiting this historical place is that you can dive and explore the reefs surrounding the island. There are two national parks in Taba Heights, the National Park of Nabq and the National Park of Ras Abu Galum, both a wildlife preserve where you can catch a glimpse of animals such as herons, foxes, Nubian ibexes, hyraxes, ospreys and gazelles. As mentioned earlier Taba Heights has 5km of beachfront. On the beach there are plenty of things to do such as snorkeling, windsurfing, diving, sailing, canoeing, a glass bottom boat trip and even just riding a banana boat. Waterworld based at Taba heights is a 5-star Padi dive center. In addition, Taba Hilton has a 5-star PADI dive and water sports facility called Aqua Sports. For divers a trip gong to rarely visited and exquisite dive spots riding Aqua Sport’s premier boat, the Kewet Salem, is a must. The Waterworld Dive Centre is also based in Taba Heights and offers diving lessons to wannabe divers as well as advanced divers. The beachfront itself also offers its own fun like at the Marriot beach wherein you can find a cave, waterfalls, a kiddie pool, an outdoor waterslide, a Jacuzzi and a swim-up bar.
