Dahab
dahabThe former fishing village Dahab is on the Sinai peninsula at the gulf of Akaba North of Sham El Sheikh. The name means "Gold" in Arabic which is probably due to the mica particles of fine golden sand.

Dahab Diving

Dahab spectacular corral reefs offer great diving and snorkelling . The entire northern coast stretches a wide fringing reef that Dahab diving centres use. All the sites can be reached jeep, boatĀ  or camel with impressive Sinai landscape an experience in itself. World famous dive sites like the Canyon, a spectacular gorge in the seabed and the Blue Hole, a circular tray that is several hundred meters deep are Dahab's main diving attractions.

To reach Dahab you will more than likely arrive at Sharm El Sheikhs international airport which around 5o km away. Buses and taxis leave the airport to go to Dahab and take around an hour to get there. If using a taxi it is best to negotiate the price before departuresĀ  and will cost between 150 and 300 LE.
